Loudon got a bunch of new toys for his birthday; it's been entertaining for all parties involved to see Loudon learning how to play with his new and LOUD toys. His latest find was trying to turn them all on at the same time and dancing to the music!

Loudon's 1st Birthday Party!

*WOW* what a weekend...we are wiped out! It all started on Friday evening. Melissa, Indy, Phoenix and Paxton showed up early afternoon at the hotel and Loudon and I(Heather) met up with them to go swimming. Loudon was beside himself with not one but THREE pools to swim in. He didn't appreciate mom trying to help him, he really wanted me to let go and go swimming by himself. He did a couple full submersion and tried to blow bubbles which lead to more water intake then anything. Bumpa, Nana, Gregg and Stacey(Gregg's girlfriend) came later that evening, Loudon didn't make it that long so we met up with them on Saturday. It was a beautiful fall day so we go to take advantage of having lunch on our three-season porch and took a walk to the coffee shop to visit Dominic. Gregg and I were trailing behind with Loudon and both finally noticed how large our family is getting....it was the first time I felt like we had a big family.
After our outting everyone wanted to go swimming(which wasn't in my plans) but I had to go along with it as not to ruin the surprise. Loudon and I stayed behind since it was his nap time and I quickly called Aunt Patty, Grandma and Uncle Mike to warn them not to check-in to the hotel because everyone was back there. So they headed over to our place to hide out. In the end it all workout, a successful surprise. My dad and mom were shocked to see not only Aunt Patty and Grandma but Uncle Mike from Phoenix, AZ. Sunday was presents and carrot cake (dad's favorite and from the sounds of it Loudon loved it too).

This past week Loudon had his one year pictures taken...of course we had to snap a couple of our own before we headed to his photo shoot. He was so handsome in his little man outfit. You'll probably notice that his feet look unusually LARGE in proportion to his body. We've had a bit of a problem trying to find shoes that fit this kid. I remember the first thing I noticed about him right when he was born were his feet..I know..sad but they are big and square. Perfectly squared off which makes his feet ridiculously square and impossible to fit in any normal sizes. So unless they are special "wide" shoes they need to be about three sizes too big to get his feet to fit!:) Leave it to Loudon to need custom shoes at a year old!

This past weekend we travel to Great-Grandma Helland's home in Austin. Easter was our last visit there so it was long overdue, and grandma was soo grateful for our visit! Loudon couldn't get enough of her...he'd wake up in the morning and want to go straight to great-grandma and give her a hug AND a kiss(rare for him). Dorothy (the other lady in the video and pictures) is a dear friend of grandma and ours. She is going to be 94 in a couple weeks and has been surviving throat cancer for the past couple years. She refuses treatment...a stubborn cookie but we and Loudon just adore her!
